Where has time gone? What audiovideo2day is today, started about ten years ago as a proper audio club. Every month there was a party on the so-called ‘club-day’, where a certain brand, distributor or shop gave a presentation. Subjects were very diverse. A certain moment the distribution company AND Benelux came with the preposition to organize a workshop around the then-present Tact. Audio guru and visionary Peter Lyngdorf was to come all the way from headquarters in Denmark to explain certain matters in person. He kept going on about how a ‘room-correction’ system and real digital amplifiers would change the scenery of the audio world. This memory is etched into my mind like no other. Revolutionary technology and groundbreaking products were born that day.
Visionary Peter Lyngdorf
The person of Peter Lyngdorf is least of all your average person. As an especially successful businessman in the audio world (think NAD, Dali, AudioNord, HifiKlubben) he is completely driven by passion. Never in my entire career have I met such an inspirational individual. Only the very best is well enough for him. So, he created a team of roughly twenty engineers who had to design the RoomPerfect system for Lyngdorf Audio. Not just any engineers, but rather the best ones in their areas of expertise.
About RoomPerfect
The RoomPerfect system optimises the display of your speaker system in acoustics that are present. This happens in a completely electronic (digitally) way. Gone with those ugly and annoying acoustic panels, with which you’d drive your mother insane. RoomPerfect optimises the display frequency curve, and introduces phase equality. The result? A more balanced display with a lot more detail and focus. The great thing about RoomPerfect is that you can switch it on and off. You can therefore choose whether or not to apply the correction. Such an AB-comparison works every single time. No easier way to convince yourself. The RoomPerfect system is available as a stand-alone product for people who wish to keep using their existing sets: the Lyngdorf RP-1. Other options are the digital amplifier TDAI-2200, which you can optionally provide with a RoomPerfect module, or as an upgrade.
