The Lenses
The NX200 is sold with a 20-50 mm lens or one with a range of 18 to 55 mm and optical image stabilization. This choice, however, is not as obvious as you might think. With the first lens with the NX200 remains a relatively compact camera, but do you choose for the other option than this will not be the case. The 18-55 mm lens is narrowly but smaller than most Kit lenses on DSLRs. In Exchange you have superior zoom range and the image stabilisation (in-body stabilisation the Samsung does not have).
Handy is the iFunction button on the lenses. This brings up a by magic you a sub menu on the screen that lets you quickly customize some parameters like aperturevalues or shutter speed. You do that than by turning the focus ring and create in that way a flawless scrolling through the different values. The menu structure is well organized and navigating is smooth using the buttons on the appliance. Here would have been a toughscreen a nice addition, but fingerprints are then inevitable and that is the last thing you want on a screen that the lack of a viewfinder must compensate. The AMOLED screen itself solves his task excellent. With a diameter of 3 inches and a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels is this very bright screen also pretty sharp. Pity that it can not be folded out therefore reflections of the sun or other light sources cannot be excluded.
Image Capturing
Enough about the features, let’s just talk about the images that the Samsung NX200 produces. The 20.3 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor produces noise-free images at ISO 100-800 and also with ISO 1600 values photos look very well from there. ISO 3200 let a little noise but is still usable while the faster settings of ISO 6400 and ISO 12800 display less detail saturation of the colors and there is than visible. The latter two modes are only recommended if the photo should be small in size. RAW files have some more noise on the same ISO-values than Jpegs. This is because at the end noise is filtered out good by the NX200. When enough light colors are displayed accurately, but also in dark conditions, the camera performs excellent, whether or not using a maximum shutter speed of 30 sec. Keep in mind that the processing of the images will not happen super fast. The appliance start then again in a sigh and in “burst mode” you can shoot up to 7 frames per second.
