Moving Image
As already said the Samsung has a separate button for directly filming ,from any mode. This creates expectations. Expectations that the NX200 not quite deliver. Videos are included in MP4 format with a resolution up to 1080p and up to 30 fps. Unlike photos ,movies are not that impressive in dark conditions. The auto focus regularly gets confused and needs to sweep the entire focus range back to focussing. Also be sounds of the lens will be recorded by the microphone during fast manually zoom, which is by the way very annoying. However, it must be added that the color and sharpness are excellent with sufficient light. The camera therefore lends itself perfectly for personal videos, but no more than that.
Modes
A very interesting feature is the Smart Auto mode. The camera chooses than depending on the images he captures one of the seven appropriate presets. This goes from a macro photo to a portrait. This feature is ideal for people with a shoot & go-mentality. For those who seek the perfect picture there are four modes with automatic exposure, Aperture priority, shutter priority or completely manual settings to determine. Also nice is the Magic mode that lets you can put different frames around pictures or there are plenty of effects on letting go. The resolution of your photos will then be limited to only 2 mega pixels so don’t expect your photos with the fisheye filter look as impressive like photographs pulled with a real fisheye lens.
Conclusion
As long as you need and no viewfinder you movies for personal consumption only serve a very good device, the Samsung NX200 that performs well in low light conditions. Additional accessories such as pancake lenses are available, but you are now limited to a dozen lenses that use the same system as the Samsung NX family. To make a long story short: the Samsung performs much better than digital compact cameras, but still not as good as a full-fledged single-lense mirror reflex.
