You can buy in specialized record stores or on internet sites, offering both new and second-hand records. But you can frequently find something to your liking in jumble sales too because of the extensive offer. However, here prices have risen sharply in the past years as a result of an increased demand. By searching thoroughly and taking your time, you can often snap up some real gems.
The disadvantage of second-hand vinyl is that it’s difficult with the naked eye to see if a record is still OK. Or not at all in the worst case (for example through the use of wrong of broken needles or an overpressure on the element). However, scratches are indeed visible, but are mostly not interfering with the final result.
