We regret that these top receivers were not previously discovered, because of theirfeatures, smooth operation and user friendly interface. The strength and power is unprecedented at this price range and supported the Canton Reference Jubilee speakers of the Advantage cream nicely within their own character and possibilities. Onkyo amplifiers offer the appearance and character that I desire as a Home Cinema enthusiast. A sober but beautiful quality housing and a dynamic, powerful and stable sound. Power is there when you need it and music is played as it should be. In addition you get all the modern features (streaming, Wi-Fi, 4K, Spotify, control via App, networking), so you can understand that both the TX-NR535 (€ 399) and the TX-NR636 (€ 499) aim right on target. Do you focus on an AV receiver with a lot of technical gadgets and are not into disco parties every weekend, then you have found an affordable friend for a long time in the TX-NR535. You prefer just a little bit more: more power, more features, more sound? Then I would go for the TX-NR636. You get a lot of quality, features and musicality for 499 euro. We are confident that you will be impressed by its quality-price ratio. The added value lies mainly in the 4K upscaling the very stable power amplifiers, the extra features and AccuEQ Room Correction. This could well be your friend in Home Cinema for life. In some AV magazines you read very different comments on the Onkyo TX-NR535 and TX-NR636. One writes that Onkyo products are known to be of high value, the other is not convinced of their potential. We find it incomprehensible that some journalists who own these receivers do not know how to setup and adjust their system. In good test conditions, as in our Advantage Room, we are able to give an honest opinion on these amplifiers. Following the test, we are 100% convinced that thess AV Receivers are of good quality.
