Start the fun
The combination with my Harman Kardon 7500 was bang on. The M1 Nautilus has a silky but distinct pronounced sound. This benefits the audibility of voices. This is a bonus especially for multi-channel systems. Luckily this is not coupled with too much sharpness. A first listening session happened in stereo music modus, without visual distraction. It is definitely to be noticed that the integration of the sub with the satellites was very successful. Especially when listening to music it is quickly noticed when the sub has to play along too high with smaller speakers. Then you can locate the sub in the room and that is not pleasant at all. Nothing of this here, the M1 can go pretty deep, so much that they even perform pretty well without sub. The PV1D however gives them the solid base they deserve and due to the low crossover the sub disappears completely acoustically. The midrange also sounds very pleasant. Voices have their most important components in the midrange and these M1 make especially women’s voices come out fully. But also a round of Pink Floyd “The Wall” appealed to them. The PV1D can obvious show its qualities here. The Wall should come at you magisterially and room filling and the sub has enough power to live up to that expectation. But the system is also subtle enough for the more delicate stuff. With classical- and chamber music you will notice that the set also performs top notch. Especially due to the superb tweeter which determines the placement in the room.

In a following session we used the multi channel possibilities. The Extended Version of “The Return of the King”, third and final part of the “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy by Peter Jackson, contains all elements for really testing the set thoroughly. From the deepest rumble of the lava flows in Mount Doom to the squealing scraping of swords, the MT-60D combination puts you in the middle of the action and the components are absolutely strong enough to transfer an average listening room into a personal cinema. And if your hackles rise when Nazgul utters the horrible screams, then you know why you chose for quality.
